*The guys were on their way to the tour in the USA. They were flying in their private jet. All of the sudden something went wrong with the engines and the plane started to fall. In case of emergency there were parachutes on board-b ut only four of them. The guys started to panic. Gas said: " Hey guys, I realy need that parachoute. I`m heavy and the gravity has a bigger effect on me, if I fall without one I`m dead for sure!" So he took one of the parachoutes and jumped out of the pla n e. Zoltan grabbed the other parachoute and said: " I`m the second cutest guy in the band, I even have a fanpage of my own that sweet Emanuelle made, it would be too much of a waste if I died!" Then he put on the parachoute and jumped out. Then Ville said: " Wait just a minute! I`m the best looking one, I`m the frontman, the brain behind all of it and also the smartest!!!" He took the parachoute and jumped. Lily and Mige were still on the plane, and Lily really started to panic cause there was only one parachout left. But Mige looked at him and calmly said: " Don`t worry, you`re not gonna die. "The smartest one " took my backpack!!!!"

*One day while Ville was still working in his father`s sex-shop, Mige comes in and asks: " Hey, man do you have beer to sell? " Ville looks at him and says: " No, this is a sex-shop, not a liqour store, we don`t sell beer!" So Mige turns around and leaves. The next day he comes back and again asks: " Do you have beer? " And Ville says: " No, I told you that allready! " Mige turns around and leaves. The next day the same happens, Mige comes in wanting to buy beer and Ville tells him that he doesn`t sell it. The same thing continues for a whole week and finally Ville says to Mige: " Man, if you come here once again and ask me to sell you beer I`m gonna nail you to the wall, I swear it!!!!!!" The next day Mige walks into the store and asks: " Do you have nails? " Somewhat suprised, Ville looks at him and says: " No!" And Mige says: " And do you have beer?"

*AIDS and Stroke were In Libro Music Hall on the day of he HIM concert. They were arguing about who can kill people faster. They noticed some guys coming out of the hall long after the concert was over. Naturally the guys were HIM. Ville was coming out first. To prove to Stro k e that he is more powerfull, AIDS said: " Look at this guy. He is a geniune ladies man and he is cheaper than a bubble gum. I bet he scores one every couple of hours. He thinks he`s invincible, but all will be over when I snap my fingers!!" And AIDS snaps his fingers and Ville drops dead. The next one coming out was Mige . AIDS says: " Check this one out! He looks like he`s shagged a tone of people ( my guess is guys ) so far. He`s probbably picked up some desease by now, but one snap of my fingers will kill him!" So AIDS snaps his fingers and Mige falls dead on the ground. Now Stroke was getting impatient to prove his might to AIDS, so he said: " OK, you proved your point! But to prove that I`m just as powerfull as you, I`ll kill the next one by snaping my f ingers." The next one coming out was the beautiful pale-skined, golden-haired young man ( this is for Numadonna`s peace of mind ). Stroke snaps his fingers once and nothing happens. He does it again and again, but still nothing happens. Surprised, he look s at AIDS who is laughing his ass off. Then AIDS says: " Hey don`t be surprised! Don`t you know that the blonds have no brain???"

*Reading a newspaper Zoltan came upon an ad that said: "Good-looking woman looking for a man for the purpose of marriage.The only terms are that he never beats me, never leaves me and that he is good in bed." That afternoon he came to the womans door and rung the bell. The woman opened the door and he explained that he is there to answer her ad. The woman said:" Do you agree n ever to beat me?" He answered:" I don`t have both arms so I won`t ever be able to beat you!"Then she asked: " And do you agree never to leave me?" He replied:" I lost both of my legs while leaving the Libro Music Hall in Vienna, so I`ll never leave you!" Finally the lady said:" And what about the last term? Are you good in bed?" He said: " How do you suppose I rung the bell??????"

*One afternoon the guys were playing soccer with their manager. But the manager forgot to put on his sneekers so he sent Ville to get them from his house that was just 10m from where they were playing. Ville came to the front door and rung the bell. The managers beautifull wife opened the door. He was standing in front of her thinking: " Oh, she is so beautifull, if only I could g et her to sleep with me!!" An idea crossed his mind and he decided to go for it. He said: " Your husband sent me and he said I have to f... you. " The woman was suspicious but tought: " If my husband said so it must be OK." And they went in. Half an hour later, Ville returned to the playground. When the manager saw that he didn`t bring him his sneekers, he started shouting: " Didn`t I tell you to bring me my sneekers??!!Go back to the house and bring them to me this instant!!!" This time the managers daug h ter opened the door and when Ville saw her he tought: " She is even more beautiful than her mother!! How can I get her to sleep with me??" He decided to tryout his idea for the second time and he said: " Your father sent me and he said I have to sleep wit h you." The girl was confused but tought: " If daddy said so then it must be OK!" And they went in. Another half an hour later, Ville returned to the playground and again forgot the sneekers. The manager was furious. He said: " Are you stupid or something? ? I already told you twice to get me those sneekers!!!Get them this time or I will cancel your contract!!!!!!!" And Ville went back to the house and rung the bell. To his suprise, both the wife and the daughter opened the door. Encouraged by his previous succes, Ville said: " I`m sorry to bother you again, but your husband and your father sent me and said I have to f... you both this time." But the wife didn`t belive him. So he shouted to his manager: " Hey, did you mean both of them?????" And the manager shouted back: " Yes, yes, both of them, Ville, both of them!!!!!!"

*One day Mige comes up to Ville and says: " I have 2 news. One is good and one is bad. Which do you want to hear first?" Ville said: " Tell me the bad one first!" Mige said: " Your little br other Jesse lost his verginity last night!" " What`s the good one?" Ville asked. " He was veeeeeery goooooooooood!!!!!"

*One day Lily and Zoltan were fighting like hell. Suddenly the Magical-manager showed up and gave each of them 3 wishes so they could concentrate on something else besides fighting all the time. Zoltan got to go first, "Hmmm....I wish that everyone in Helsinki are girls". "Alright", the Magical-manager said and turned everyone in Helsinki into girls. He then turned to Lily who said, "I wish for a helmet". "A helmet?", the Magical-manager said,"well well, alright", he said and gave Lily a helmet. Then there were Zoltan's second wish. "I wish that everyone in Finland are girls". "My second wish is a motorcycle", Lily said. "Well then", the Magical-manager said, "what is your last wish Zoltan?" Zoltan were drewling alot now and shaking all over in expectation. "I wish that everyone in the whole world are girls", he said. Zoltan is now the only man in the world, and he feels very good about himself.... Then came Lily's last wish. Lily started her motorcycle, and as she drove past Zoltan she yelled, "I wish Zoltan were GAY......" Yep, it does sound much like a classic of ours, but only a few people who were in forum on the day we wrote it there had the chance to see it, so ... And another one: Ville, Mige and Lily bought a house. Mige lived in the ground-floor, Lily in first and on top, Ville. A warm summer morning they were all standing in the window enjoying the view, while doing their stuff.. On top Ville were shaving, Lily were peeing out the window, and at the bottom, Mige were eating soup. Suddenly Ville dropped his racor, and poor Lily lost his cock. Later that day Ville visited Mige and asked him what he had done that day. "I ate this delicious soup, but the sausage was like leather...."

*One day a man walked into a whore-house. He payed up a slut but she didn`t want to give it to him."Oh, come on" the man said. "Can I at least smell it a bit 'down there'?" "Well, OK" she replied. So he got down to it to take a sniff." So, what`s your name?" she asked." Lllilly!"

*One day Ville and his girlfriend(?) were travelling in Helsinki tube and she(?) was sitting in his lap. She started complaining: "Oh, Ville, my tooth hurts!" He kissed her jaw and made it all better. A few moments later she said:"Oh, Ville, my neck hurts." He kissed her neck and then she moaned:"Oh, I feel much better now." Then she complained about her nose, eyes, lips, eyelashes...a nd he cured it all with his razorblade kisses. A moment later an old man sitting next to them looked at Ville and asked:" Hey, you, can you cure hemorroids?"

*One day our dearest Mige passed away and somehow managed to make his way to heaven. God said:"You look kinda suspicious.I' ll keep an eye on you!" So,one day Mige took a stroll down heaven when he saw an angel leaning to pick a flower. He came up to him from behind and <BOOM>! When God heard about that he said: "I knew that there was something funny behind that innocent piggy-nose of yours! I'll spare you this time, but if this happens again, you' re going straight to hell!" Some other day, he was going for a walk again, he saw an angel leaning to tie his shoes. Mige sneaked up to him again and <BANG>! "To hell with you!" - shouted God angrily and in a nick of time, our naughty friend wound up in the evil place to 'scorch in these heavenly flames' . After awhile, hell literally froze over. It was kinda strange to God, so he asked Satan what was going on:"Isn't hell supposed to be hot or something with flames everywhere and shit like that?" Satan replied: "If you're so smart and mighty, then YOU duck to pick up the firewood with this guy around!"

*Don Valo, a notorious member of the finnish maffia, calls his son Ville to him. Metalfan: Less of  the daylight, more of the moonlight, so to speak. Still, you managed to come up with this „love metal”, which I consider a disruption in the genre.

Mige: Disruptors... that’s what we are... disruptors...
Ville: You know, our drummer comes originally from Sweden and from my mother’s side my family comes from Hungary, so that could be the reason we’re doing this stuff. We’re bastards, we’re not former Finnish people.

Metalfan. Great... But (grinning) still, lots of people, including ourselves in the beginning, until we’ve listened to you properly (giggle), said: „Fuck, man, this is not a metal band!” Because we are so cliche with this metal... (grin)

Ville: To a certain extent, we don’t give a fuck. We started playing music and we started this whole band beacause of Black Sabbath, and you can’t go more metal than that, if we’re talking about the origin where metal came from. But, on the other hand, we like a lot (and I love) Elvis Presley. He was rock’n’roll, but he also had this sentimental side, he had great balance and stuff like that. So we wanted to mix those styles together,that’s the reason, you know...

Metalfan: I love him too, but doesn’t make us necro... phagic?... or...?
Ville&Mige (laughs): Not phagic!!! ...uhh..phylic

Ville: You know, most of the artists I love are dead, so...(laughs) ...let’s say, when I’m seeing a picture of Elvis Presley I’m not getting the boner. And necrophagic would be eating the dead people, so not yet... I’m not ready for that (laughs)

Metalfan: You were in the band almost from the beginning. You were there since the beginning, some of you joined later... how do you think it evolved? You cand describe it even in darwinistic ways: first fish, then...
Mige: I wouldn’t say exactly evolution...

Metalfan: Involution, whatever...
Mige: Perhaps is more like degeneration. I’d like to think that, because rock’n’roll music tends to be more about decay and death, so I think it’s not our job to say if it’s more of an evolution or practising.
Ville: We believe in Adam and Eve...
Mige: And I’m going back to trees, personally!
Ville: From a darwinistic prospective, I would say we are the missing link, nobody knows what they did and where the fuck they went, so I’d say this is exactly waht we are (laughs).

Metalfan: You sounded very uncommercial to me (grin). Now, as I speak to you, you sound MOST uncommercial...
Mige: I’m very surprised at that.
Ville: Why is that?

Metalfan: Maybe because you sell so much... (laughs)
Ville: Come on... Ohh! Come on, we’re Black Sabbath fans, that’s what we are. You know, a lot of modern rock bands say they are doing something new, inventing a new category, but all we’ve been saying all the time since we started was that we are a road-sign towards Black Sabbath. We want the kids to know about good music, not about techno-crap fucking Crazy Frog bullshit.

Metalfan: And this will help music to progress. But I’m amazed that such true and uncommon characters sold so, so much in the US with their latest album.
Ville: We’ve been doin’ pretty well, yes, but there’s a fellow called Bam Magera, from MTV, and he’s been helping us a lot, he’s a big fan of what we do, he’s been directing a couple of videos for us, and he’s been they guy who’s been talking about us on radio, and I think we’ve been having a good grass-roots following. And that was the first album that properly came out there, and, you know, we’re surprised ourselves. We’re really close to getting a Golden Album out there, it’s nearly half a million already, so... it’s really cool. But we’ve been waiting for 10 years to be able to go there, so...

Metalfan: So you’re striking it rich!
Ville: Woow!

Metalfan: Which is not an accuse at all...
Ville: You know, music is a funny thing, because, if you’re successful for one year, it could be that you’re not successful for the next 30 years, so you got to save your money, put it in the bank.

Metalfan: But, up to now, if I’m not mistaken, you’ve been successful for more than a couple of years.
Ville: Well, a couple of albums...

Metalfan: I expected you to say „more than a couple of years”. It’s more.
Ville: Well, I’m very happy with the fact that me and Mige started to play when we were kids, 7-8years old. And it took us maybe 15 years to be able to pay our bills with music, so we’re really happy that after all this time we can really live off our music and I have all the time to write and stuff like that.

Metalfan: I also happen to have friends from my childhood, so we grew up from 4 years to 30 years, which I am now.
Ville: So you’re 57! (laughs)

Metalfan: I’m 57... kilos (Ville laughs, obvioulsy doubting). So, I wonder, how do these „beans” that grew up from 5 to 30 years old still get along so well? What the fuck is the benefit with the friends from childhood? You always get along so well... until you die, I think.
Ville: Well, there’s no pretentions, cause everybody knows who you are, without, college studies or anything like that, isn’t it?
Mige: I think certain type of people just come to each other... it’s the odour, the feromons.

Metalfan: Even among men?!
Mige: Christ!!(Everybody laughs)

Metalfan: So, we’ve heard your next album will be more aggressive. First: is it right or wrong? If it is right, are you going to play a couple of songs from this album for us tonight?
Ville: We’ve been touring since last October, so we haven’t really had the time to rehearse any new songs, so now we’re playing a mixture of what we’ve done before. Well, the new stuff is going to be... yes... a little bit more violent, I’d say. But it’s also our idea to do an album closer, let’s say, to Led Zeppelin no.3; so we’d have totally acoustic numbers and then really rough stuff.  We’ve never done done; the dynamics on the album will be really really big, so it’s really rough, then it’s tiny and sweet.

Metalfan (to Mige): How do you think you’ll fit in this?
Mige: I think I’ll fit, I’m in dying need of anger management, I’d like to channel my anger to different places that I’ve never been so far...

Metalfan: I’m looking forward to getting away from you... (laughs)
Mige: No, no, no... I was talking about music now; I exagerated, so you don’t have to fear me in the next 5 years from now.
 
Metalfan: We have a cliche-question, and you won’t escape it (smiles). How do you see yourselves in 10 years from now? Sill playing rock’n’roll? Or you don’t see yourselves anywhere?
Ville: Yeah, nowhere, we’ll just vanish (smiles). We’ll be just a flashy during light, like Spinal Tap (grins). Hm... in 10 years... hopefully, still playing with the band. I don’t have any plans whatsoever, it’s good to go with the flow, there’s so many things we can change and we don’t know wether we’re going to be successful or not in 10 years. So, I’m still hoping my parents will be alive (smiles).

To Shed The Dark Light Over A Land Of Legends

A Finnish Festival in the heart of Transylvania! This is the ARTMANIA Festival that will line up several of the best musical acts from Finland. The ARTMANIA Festival is organised under the aegis of the Embassy of Finland in Romania, in co-operation with several Finnish cultural organisations and the City Hall of Sibiu.

In addition to live performances, Artmania Festival will feature other interesting events such as visual art exhibitions, film screenings, classic music performances, lectures and workshops.

Two of the most representative personalities of the Finnish art milieu, Jan Kaila and Elina Brotherus, will display their worldwide acclaimed works in Sibiu during the three-day festival. Classic music concerts, piano competitions and recitals will be performed by young artists at the Thalia Hall, an exquisite site built on the ancient walls surrounding the medieval city. Last December, Tarja Turunen, the ex-NIGHTWISH singer, performed a sold-out Christmas concert there.

After spreading a gentle breeze of melancholy over the world with their Love Metal sound that brought them the status of super-star icons, H.I.M will shed the “Dark Light” over Sibiu, the medieval city located in the very heart of Transylvania, a place full of history and legends.

H.I.M, one of the most successful Finnish bands to the date and Finland’s best music export ever, will perform in the Big Square of Sibiu, on Saturday, July 15 at the first edition of the ARTMANIA Festival.

Here the Finnish quintet intends to shoot new video materials, including a DVD with live footage from the concert but also from the town and its surroundings, a charming location where history and traditions blend with immemorial gothic legends.

H.I.M, performing for the first time ever in Romania at ARTMANIA Festival, chose to include Sibiu in the Dark Light world promoting tour, attracted by the town’s exquisite beauty, located at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, a place that cannot but match the elegant image of the band.

Since the release of the new album, last September at Sire Records/Warner Music, the Finnish lovemetallers had a great success conquering new territories, and considerably increasing the ranks of devoted fans from the Europe’s North to the Antipodes.

So far, H.I.M has performed some 60 concerts in Europe, North America and Japan and in the upcoming weeks will tour Australia, U.K, U.S and Canada to come back in Europe to perform to a few selected summer festivals.

The ARTMANIA Festival line-up includes one of the most leading bands of the European metal scene: AMORPHIS.

After three years of absence from the spotlight, AMORPHIS makes today a truly strong comeback with “Eclipse”, the band’s seven full length album, released in February 2006 and already considered by the music critics as one of the best albums of the genre in 2006.

“Eclipse” went straight to the first spot on the Finnish Album Charts in February. Released on Nuclear Blast in Europe and the United States, it was also the choice of German Metal Hammer magazine as the album of the month.
The new album introduces the new vocalist Tomi Joutsen who replaces the former singer Pasi Koskinen. SILENTIVM – founded from the demise of the death/gothic band Funeral, fronted by the enchanting Riina Rinkinen, has released four albums since 1999, and their new output, “Seducia”, is exactly that – seducing and soothing music full of emotions, and always with a edge to it. Along with the release Silentivm got high hopes. New material and the line-up fits together perfectly and the next chapter in the Silentian history is about to be written as they plan to hit the road this spring. CARMEN GRAY – one of the most promising new comers on the Finnish music scene will make its first international performance in Sibiu.So far the band has only released a promotional single, “Lost In My Mind Again” which has been a huge hit all over the Finnish radio stations. The band already secured a deal with Sony BMG in Finland in 2005. Carmen Gray reminds its audience of the 90’s rock attitude with catchy melodies and intensive stage performing. Earlier this month, Carmen Gray was the support act of The Darkness, when they visited Finland. Carmen Gray’s first album is produced by T.T. Oksala and it will be released in September 2006.

ARTMANIA Festival includes besides the rock concerts other interesting events such as visual art exhibitions, film screenings, classic music performances, lectures and workshops.

The photography and video art exhibitions will be hosted by the Brukenthal Museum, located in the Big Square of the Town, a landmark of Transilvania’s rich cultural heritage.

Classic music concerts, piano competitions and recitals will be performed by young artists at the Thalia Hall, an exquisite site built on the ancient walls surrounding the medieval city. Last December, Tarja Turunen, ex-Nightwish singer, performed there a sold out much applauded Christmas concert.

Tourism, sightseeing

For the public attending the ARTMANIA Festival, Sibiu offers a wide range of touristic opportunities.

Besides the beauty of the town, most monuments and buildings in the city centre date from the 14-15th century, the visitors may explore the nearby villages, with well preserved medieval German fortresses but also the breathtaking landscape, where the mountains touch the skies and the air is so fresh that nearly hurts those used with the every-day pollution of the modern cities.
